Bhadrapur to host Indo-Nepal T-20 Championship

KATHMANDU: The ‘Koshi Pathibhara Indo-Nepal T-20 Championship Cup’ cricket tournament is going to be held at the playground of Mechi Multiple Campus in Bhadrapur from coming Feb 4 to 12.

Eight teams from Nepal and India will participate in the tournament and all preparations for it have been completed, said Coordinator of the organizing committee, Manoj Subba.

The participating Nepali teams include the host Bhadrapur Cricket Club, Gandaki Heroes Pokhara, Great Himalayan Cricket Academy Kathmandu and Friends Youth Club, Dadeldhura.

Similarly, Indian teams competing in the event are Rhino Land Cricket Academy Assam (Guwahati), Global Star Cricket Club Lucknow, Cricket Coaching Upadhyay Academy, New Delhi and Snow Lion Team of Sikkim.

The winner team of the tournament will receive a cash prize of Rs 500,000 and the runner-up will Rs. 300,000, along with a trophy and medals.

The ‘Player of the Match’ of every match will be awarded Rs 11,000, while the best batsperson and bowler will be awarded Rs 25,000 each, and the best player of the tournament will be awarded Rs 51,000 and a trophy, according to the organizers.

The tournament will be organized in a league cum knockout format with eight teams divided into two groups. The tournament is expected to cost around Rs 12.2 million.
