KATHMANDU: Senior leader of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Balendra Shah, concluded his Sudurpashchim Province tour on Friday, ringing bells at Mangalsen, Kamalbazaar, and Binayak in Achham.

With the Binayak stop, Shah completed visits to all 16 electoral constituencies in the province.

On the first day of the tour, he visited eight constituencies—five in Kailali and three in Kanchanpur.

The second day took him to Dadeldhura, Baitadi, and Darchula, before he traveled to Bajhang that night.

On the third day, he moved from Bajura to Sanfebagar in Achham-1, then to Doti. The fourth day focused on various locations in Achham-2.

In Achham-2, which is represented by his personal secretary Bhupdev Shah, Balendra Shah spent only five minutes each in Mangalsen, Kamalbazaar, and Binayak.

He avoided public speeches, instead ringing the bell at party offices and greeting supporters from his vehicle before moving to the next destination.

Shah’s approach is consistent with his previous visits, where he spends an average of 10–15 minutes per constituency, avoiding speeches or one-on-one interactions.

While supporters in Kamalbazaar had prepared a welcome, some locals criticized him on social media for not addressing the crowd.

Shah’s close aides argue that his strategy emphasizes symbolic presence over speeches, challenging traditional political practices through brief visits, bell-ringing, and silent, rapid movement between constituencies.
