After losing the toss and being sent in to bat at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Australia were bowled out for 181 runs in 20 overs.

Captain Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head led the batting with half-centuries.

Head scored 56 off 29 balls, hitting seven fours and three sixes, while Marsh made 54 off 27 deliveries with eight fours and two sixes.

Josh Inglis added 27 runs and Glenn Maxwell scored 22, but the remaining Australian batters failed to reach double figures.

For Sri Lanka, Dushan Hemantha picked up three wickets, while Dushmantha Chameera claimed two.

Dunith Wellalage, Kamnidu Mendis, and Maheesh Theekshana took one wicket each.

Australia, who have one win and one loss from their first two matches and sit third in the points table, are under pressure to win this match to keep their Super Eight qualification hopes alive.

Sri Lanka, meanwhile, top the table after winning both of their previous matches.
