KATHMANDU: Arsenal produced a blistering first-half performance to crush Wigan Athletic 4–0 and book their place in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Noni Madueke opened the scoring in the 11th minute after a fine assist from Eberechi Eze.

Seven minutes later, Eze turned provider again as Gabriel Martinelli doubled Arsenal’s advantage.

Wigan’s misery deepened in the 23rd minute when defender Jack Hunt diverted the ball into his own net.

Just four minutes later, Gabriel Jesus completed the rout after being set up by Christian Norgaard.

Bukayo Saka impressed in midfield with an energetic and creative display, while Arsenal’s goalkeeper denied Wigan a consolation goal with a series of sharp saves.

The victory sees Arsenal reach the FA Cup fifth round for the first time since 2020, when they lifted the trophy under manager Mikel Arteta.
