Arjun demands immediate release of Gen Z protest probe report
KC expressed concern that the report of the commission led by Gauri Bahadur Karki has not yet been officially made public, despite being submitted.
KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Arjun Narsingh KC has urged the government to publicly release the report of the commission formed to investigate the Gen Z movement-related violence and destruction.
Speaking during the zero hour of Monday’s House of Representatives meeting, KC expressed concern that the report of the commission led by Gauri Bahadur Karki has not yet been officially made public, despite being submitted.
He stressed that all Members of Parliament should be provided access to the document, stating that delays in releasing such important investigative reports undermine transparency and accountability.
“The report prepared by the commission formed to investigate the massacre and vandalism of Bhadra 23 and 24 has already been submitted, but it has not been officially made public. I urge the government to release it immediately and make it available to all honourable members,” KC said in Parliament.
Lawmakers have also raised concerns over the non-implementation of recommendations from such commissions, warning that delays in publication and action weaken public trust in state institutions.
