Altitude Air helicopter slips during landing in Lobuche, pilot safe

KATHMANDU: A helicopter belonging to Altitude Air met with an accident while attempting to land at Lobuche helipad in the high Himalayan region of Solukhumbu on Wednesday morning.

Chief District Officer Lilakumari K.C. Pandey confirmed that the pilot, Vivek Khadka, is safe.
District Police Office Solukhumbu spokesperson DSP Manojit Kunwar said there were no passengers onboard apart from the pilot.
As per Lukla Airport authorities, the helicopter, bearing call sign Alpha Mike Sierra, slipped at around 8:15 a.m. while landing at the Lobuche helipad.
The helicopter sustained minor damage in the incident.
Police and local administration are collecting further details, and an official report is expected soon.
