Allegations against RSP lawmaker enter Parliament, spark political debate
The allegations claim that Karki allegedly made a foreign national, reportedly a Nigerian woman, pregnant and later abandoned her.
KATHMANDU: A controversy involving a lawmaker from Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has reached the federal parliament, after allegations against him were raised during a House session on Tuesday.
During a meeting of the House of Representatives, lawmaker Parbati BK of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) brought the issue into parliamentary discussion, referring to serious allegations circulating on social media against RSP MP Krishna Kumar Karki.
The allegations claim that Karki allegedly made a foreign national, reportedly a Nigerian woman, pregnant and later abandoned her.
The claims have not been independently verified, and no official investigation findings have been publicly presented in parliament.
Raising concern over the matter, MP BK questioned the potential diplomatic and reputational impact on Nepal, saying such incidents could affect how the international community perceives Nepali citizens.
“What is the truth behind this incident? The House must be informed,” she demanded during the session, urging transparency and accountability.
She further argued that if the allegations are proven true, appropriate legal and parliamentary action should be taken against the lawmaker.
