Al Nassr suffer second straight defeat despite Ronaldo penalty
Ronaldo pulled one back in the 81st minute with a well-taken penalty, reigniting hopes of a comeback.
KATHMANDU: Al Nassr endured their second consecutive loss in the Saudi Pro League after falling 2–1 to Al Qadsiah on Thursday, despite Cristiano Ronaldo scoring from the penalty spot.
The visitors were stunned by two quick goals in the second half. Julian Quinones opened the scoring in the 51st minute, capitalizing on a costly mistake by Al Nassr’s goalkeeper.
Nahitan Nandez then doubled Al Qadsiah’s lead in the 66th minute, putting Al Nassr under heavy pressure.
Ronaldo pulled one back in the 81st minute with a well-taken penalty, reigniting hopes of a comeback.
However, Al Nassr failed to find an equalizer before the final whistle.
Following the defeat, Al Nassr remain on 31 points, now four points behind league leaders Al Hilal.
Al Hilal strengthened their position at the top with a convincing 3–0 victory over Al Hazm. Meanwhile, Al Qadsiah climbed to fourth place with 27 points.
