Africa must play stronger role in reshaping global order: Senegal President

KATHMANDU: Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye has called on African nations to take a more dynamic role in reshaping the global order while firmly strengthening their sovereignty.

Speaking at the opening of the 10th Dakar International Peace and Security Forum held in Diamniadio, near the capital Dakar, President Faye emphasized that the continent must collectively develop solutions to break cycles of instability affecting many African states.

He said this year’s forum theme highlights the urgent need for African countries to work together in addressing security challenges and building a more stable and self-reliant continent.
