29 polling stations classified highly sensitive in Baglung

KATHMANDU: Ahead of the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5, 29 polling stations in Baglung have been classified as highly sensitive.

The district, which has two electoral constituencies, has categorized its 107 polling stations into three groups: highly sensitive, sensitive, and normal.

According to Tilak Bharati, Chief Superintendent of Police and head of Baglung District Police, 29 polling stations are highly sensitive, 25 are sensitive, and 53 are considered normal.

“The district security committee classified the polling stations based on factors such as past election activities, voter numbers, and security sensitivity,” Bharti said.

Previously, Baglung had 106 polling stations, but one additional station was added this year, bringing the total to 107, according to Yagya Prasad Rijal, Chief of the District Election Office.

Baglung has a total of 193,381 registered voters. In Constituency No. 1, 48 polling stations with 115 polling centers serve 98,046 voters, while Constituency No. 2 has 59 polling stations with 115 polling centers for 95,335 voters.
