KATHMANDU: Barcelona extended their lead at the top of La Liga with a thrilling 5–3 victory against Real Betis on Saturday, powered by Ferran Torres’ first-half hat-trick.

But the lead was short-lived. Just five minutes later, Ferran Torres headed in Jules Koundé’s cross to level the match at 1–1.
Torres added his second goal in the 13th minute, turning the game 2–1 in Barcelona’s favour.
The Catalans continued their strong momentum as young talent Runi Bardghji scored his first goal for the club in the 31st minute, extending the lead to 3–1.
Five minutes before halftime, Torres completed his hat-trick with a stunning 20-yard strike, giving Barcelona a commanding 4–1 advantage heading into the break.
Barcelona were awarded a penalty in the 59th minute after a VAR review confirmed a handball by Marc Bartra. Rising star Lamine Yamal converted confidently to make it 5–1.
Betis responded late, scoring twice to narrow the gap. Diego Llorente netted in the 85th minute, and Cucho Hernández scored from the spot in stoppage time after a penalty conceded by Koundé, ending the match at 5–3.
The victory keeps Barcelona four points clear of second-placed Real Madrid.
