KATHMANDU: Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH), Maharajganj, has completed postmortem examinations of 28 individuals.

The hospital is currently conducting autopsies on those who lost their lives during the Gen Z demonstrations.

According to Dr. Gopal Chaudhary, head of the forensic department, a total of 46 bodies have been brought to the hospital so far.

Of these, 23 have been claimed by their families, while seven remain unidentified and require DNA testing.

In such cases, dental records and fingerprints are used to establish identity.

Dr. Chaudhary added, “The bodies show gunshot wounds, burns, and other injuries. We are conducting postmortems on those referred to us.”

Meanwhile, newly appointed Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Physical Infrastructure and Transport, and Urban Development, Kulman Ghising, visited the hospital to meet the families of the deceased and the injured. Currently, 22 patients are receiving treatment at TUTH.
