Siddhartha Bank aids reconstruction of Shree Janapriya School building

KATHMANDU: Siddhartha Bank Limited has laid the foundation stone for the reconstruction of a school building at Shree Janapriya Basic School, located in Sanibheri Rural Municipality–1, Rukum West.

The ceremony marks the beginning of efforts to rebuild one of the two school buildings severely damaged by the devastating earthquake of Kartik 17, 2080 BS (Nov 3, 2023).

The school currently provides education from early childhood development (ECD) classes up to Grade 8 and serves around 175 students from the local community. The rebuilding initiative is part of Siddhartha Bank’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts to enhance educational infrastructure in disaster-affected areas.

The foundation-laying event was graced by key dignitaries including Mr. Birkha Bahadur Bista, Chairperson of Sanibheri Rural Municipality; Vice-Chairperson Ms. Kamala Roka Pun; Ward Chairperson of Ward No. 1, Mr. Tek Bahadur Pun; Executive Member Mr. Sete Kami; President of the School Management Committee, Mr. Tutaram Khadka; Principal of Shree Janapriya Basic School, Mr. Lale Rana Magar; and Branch Manager of Siddhartha Bank’s Musikot Branch, Mr. Opendra Bista. Teachers, parents, and other members of the school management committee were also present at the ceremony.
