NRB issues one million new five-rupee banknotes from today
The note also includes the signature of former Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari, and the lower edge displays the year 2081 B.S.

KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has introduced an additional one million new five-rupee banknotes into circulation starting today.
According to the Central Bank, these notes will be issued in the same size and color as the previous series and will bear serial numbers ranging from Na45 000001 to Bha18 999999.
The front side of the banknote features an image of Mt. Everest on the left and a watermark of the national flower, Rhododendron (Laliguras), on the right.
The note also includes the signature of former Governor Maha Prasad Adhikari, and the lower edge displays the year 2081 B.S.
On the reverse side, the top section is printed with “Nepal Rastra Bank” in English. The central area showcases an illustration of a wild yak set against the mountainous landscape of the Limi region in Humla. At the bottom edge, the denomination “Rupees Five” and the date of issuance are printed in English.
The issuance of these notes is part of NRB’s ongoing efforts to maintain currency quality and circulation across the country.
