Federal Parliament to hold key sessions: Bills, reports, and ministerial Q&A

KATHMANDU: The Federal Parliament of Nepal will hold meetings of both the House of Representatives and the National Assembly today.

The House of Representatives will convene at 11:00 AM, while the National Assembly will begin its session at 1:15 PM.

During the House of Representatives meeting, the Banking Offenses and Punishment (Second Amendment) Bill, 2080 will be tabled, along with a message received from the National Assembly.

Additionally, the Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, Ajay Kumar Chaurasiya, will present a proposal for discussion on the Nepal Law Professionals Council (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081, which originated in the National Assembly.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will also present a proposal to discuss the Constitutional Council (Functions, Duties, Rights, and Procedures) (First Amendment) Bill, 2079.

Furthermore, the amended version of the bill, titled Constitutional Council (Functions, Duties, Rights, and Procedures) (First Amendment) Bill, 2081, will be proposed for approval.

In the National Assembly, various ministers will answer oral questions related to their respective ministries.

Lawmakers may raise questions regarding topics such as physical infrastructure and transport, culture, tourism, civil aviation, federal affairs, general administration, and agriculture and livestock development.

Moreover, Prime Minister Oli will present the Annual Report of the Muslim Commission for the Fiscal Year 2080-81 in Parliament.

Additionally, Kamala Pant, the Chairperson of the Development, Economic Affairs, and Governance Committee, will propose a discussion on the Report on the Need for Legal Provisions for the Rights and Development of the Dalit Community, 2081.
