KATHMANDU: A Buddha Air flight en route to Bhadrapur encountered a technical issue, prompting an emergency return to Kathmandu.

Flight number 953 with call sign 9N-AJS, which had departed from Kathmandu at 10:38 AM, reported a problem in its right engine mid-flight.

Following the detection of the issue, Tribhuvan International Airport declared an emergency during the aircraft’s landing.

The diverted flight made a safe landing at 11:15 AM.

According to Buddha Air, a technical team is currently inspecting the aircraft.

Meanwhile, arrangements are being made to transport the passengers to Bhadrapur on another flight.

The emergency declaration temporarily disrupted other scheduled flights at the airport.
