Prabhu Mahalaxmi donates life jackets on 8th anniversary

KATHMANDU: Prabhu Mahalaxmi Life Insurance Ltd. on the occasion of its 8th anniversary donated 850 life jackets at Phewa Lake, Pokhara, on Dec 13.

The donation ceremony took place on Friday, Dec 13, with a grand event at the Phewa Lake premises.

The life jackets were handed over by the Chief Guest, Honorable Bindu Kumar Thapa, Minister for Social Development, Youth and Sports of Gandaki Province, and Santosh Prasai, CEO of Prabhu Mahalaxmi Life Insurance Ltd., to Balram Giri, President of the Fewa Boat Entrepreneurs Association.

While addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Honorable Bindu Kumar Thapa expressed gratitude to Prabhu Mahalaxmi Life Insurance for their timely donation of life jackets, crucial for tourists and boat passengers at the iconic Phewa Lake, a major attraction in Pokhara.

He commended the company for making a significant contribution and emphasized the importance of such corporate initiatives in fulfilling societal needs. “Other organizations and bodies can learn from and replicate such responsible actions,” he added.

Santosh Prasai, CEO of Prabhu Mahalaxmi Life Insurance, highlighted the company’s ongoing commitment to making a direct impact on society, reiterating that this initiative was a continuation of their past efforts. He explained, “Life insurance is about managing the financial risks of life, and life jackets serve to protect human lives. Thus, Prabhu Mahalaxmi Life Insurance is always ready to ensure safety and security during uncertain moments.”

Balram Giri, Chair of the Phewa Boat Entrepreneurs Association, expressed pride in receiving the donation, especially as the condition of life jackets previously in use had deteriorated. He acknowledged the vital role life jackets play in safeguarding lives and reducing potential accidents on the lake. Giri also extended heartfelt thanks for providing high-quality life jackets, which would enhance the safety of boat passengers.

Kishor Prasad Lamichhane, Deputy CEO of Prabhu Mahalaxmi Life Insurance, welcomed all attendees and expressed gratitude for their participation in the life jacket handover event.

The event was also graced by the presence of key figures including Kaski District Police Chief Shyam Babu Oliya, Chair of Pokhara Tourism Council Taranath Pahadi, Deputy General Manager of Prabhu Mahalaxmi Life Insurance Son Bahadur Magar, Finance Department Head Leknath Gautam, Branding Department Head Binod Ghimire, and other staff, agents, and members of the general public.
