PM Oli announces expansion of social security benefits

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has announced an expansion of the scope of social security benefits.
Speaking at a ceremony organized by the Social Security Fund to commemorate the 7th Social Security Day, PM Oli revealed that starting 90 days from today, children of individuals contributing to the social security fund will also be eligible for benefits.
Additionally, contributors will receive 50 percent coverage for medical expenses when their treatment costs exceed Rs 100,000.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the government is committed to ensuring the provision of fundamental rights as outlined in the constitution, with the goal of making the country modern, developed, and prosperous.
During the event, PM Oli honored individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the Fund and provided exceptional services.
The social security initiative was launched six years ago when PM Oli was at the helm of the government.
