Nepal U-19 team depart for ACC Asia Cup

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s U-19 team, set to participate in the ACC U-19 Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), was bid farewell by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) today with best wishes for success.
In a program organized by CAN, members including Tanka Lal Ghising, Secretary of the National Sports Council (NSC), and Paras Khadka, CAN Secretary, sent off the team.
The Asia Cup will be held from Nov 29 to Dec 8.
Nepal is placed in Group B alongside Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. Nepal will play Sri Lanka on the opening day of the competition.
The second match is scheduled against Bangladesh on Dec 1, followed by a match with Afghanistan on Dec 3.
The head coach of the team is Shakti Gauchan, with Dhirendra Chand serving as the assistant coach. Gauchan expressed confidence that the team will deliver an excellent performance.
The team will be led by captain Hemant Dhami, with Arjun Kumal as the vice-captain. Other team members include Aazkash Tripathi, Ranjit Kumar, Uttam Thapa Magar, Mayan Yadav, Naren Saud, Unish Vikram Singh Thakuri, Santosh Yadav, Yuvraj Khatri, Roshan Biskarma, Naren Bhatt, Bipin Kumar Mahto, Aparajit Paudel, and Abhishek Tiwari.
