Prasai taken to court was returned to Bir hospital

KATHMANDU: Businessman Durga Prasai, arrested for cybercrime, has been sent back to the hospital by the Supreme Court (SC).

Prasai was brought to court as per a habeas corpus petition, and the court has ordered his return to Bir Hospital.

His son, Nirajan, filed a petition claiming that his father was unlawfully detained.

The court issued an order for Prasai’s presence, and he was taken to court as per that order.

Prasai was arrested by the police for broadcasting misleading video content against Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

He had accused the Prime Minister of making investments in Cambodia.

Prasai is currently under custody while investigations continue.
