KATHMANDU: Subash Bolkhe, a 27-year-old resident of Panchkhal Municipality-7 in Kavre, Nepal, who had traveled to Sydney, Australia, for higher studies nine months ago, has been found dead.

According to Sanjay Tamang, the spokesperson for Panchkhal Municipality, Subash’s body was discovered after he had been missing for 21 days.

Tamang reported that the news of Subash’s body being found reached the municipality on Saturday morning around 12 PM. “We were informed by the local police in Sydney that his body was found on the beach,” Tamang stated.

He also mentioned that the process of repatriating Subash’s body to Nepal would begin immediately.

Subash, who was the youngest son in his family, had initially been living with friends in Sydney but had been living alone for the past two months.

The cause of his death remains unknown, and an investigation is ongoing.

After Subash went missing, his family, along with local government officials, sought help from the embassy and Australian authorities to find him.

Panchkhal Municipality Mayor Mahesh Kharel and family members met with Felicity Volk, the Australian Ambassador to Nepal, requesting assistance in the search.

Sydney police had also posted details about Subash’s disappearance on their website, urging anyone who had seen or met him to come forward with information.
