Education Minister Bhattarai wants civil employees to respond to public grievances

KATHMANDU: Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Bidhya Bhattarai, has urged civil employees to respond promptly to public grievances regarding public service delivery.

During her meeting with chiefs of district-based government offices in Kaski today, the Minister wanted them to be serious about public complaints, and act promptly to address them.

Underlining the need for transparency in the execution of official affairs, the Minister said the roles at government offices should not be taken just as jobs. “Instead, it is a public responsibility.”

She took time to say that her focus has been centered on making the education system compatible with time with revisions to the existing acts as per the need of time. She pledged planned initiatives for the holistic development of the education sector.

At the programme, Kaski’s Chief District Officer, Bharat Mani Pandey, apprised the Minister of the overall situation in the district.

The office chiefs briefed the Minister about the challenges they are facing in the public service delivery procedures.
