Kamal Shah poised to become Sudurpaschim CM

KATHMANDU: Kamal Bahadur Shah is poised to become the Chief Minister of Sudurpaschim State once again.

The Nepali Congress (NC) Parliamentary Party has decided to appoint Shah to this position.

Geeta Chaudhary, a NC State Assembly Member who was present at the meeting, confirmed the party’s decision to select Shah as the new leader of the government.

Shah, who also holds the position of parliamentary party leader, is scheduled to submit his claim to the state chief at 12:30 PM today.

In the wake of Chief Minister Dirgha Raj Sodari’s resignation, announced during his State Assembly speech on Friday, State Chief Najir Miya has asked that the claim for the new government be presented by 5 PM today, Sunday.
