JBBL successfully concludes its 16th anniversary celebration

KATHMANDU: Jyoti Bikash Bank has successfully celebrated its 16th anniversary, marking a significant milestone since its establishment on Shrawan 9, 2065 B.S. (July 24, 2008).

Founded with the primary objective of bringing meaningful and sustainable prosperity to all citizens through accessible and comprehensive financial services and information dissemination, the bank celebrated this momentous occasion on Shrawan 9, 2081 B.S. (July 24, 2024), embarking on its 17th year of service.

The anniversary event was presided over by the bank’s Chair, Mr. Hari Chandra Khadka, at the bank’s head office premises.

The celebration saw the gracious presence of the bank’s board members, former directors, employees, and valued customers. Chair Mr. Hari Chandra Khadka formally inaugurated the ceremony by lighting the traditional oil lamp, Panas.

On this special occasion, the bank also launched its revamped, refined, and user-friendly official website.

The new website, inaugurated digitally by Chairman Mr. Hari Chandra Khadka, offers easy access to information about the bank’s services, online loan applications, account opening through video banking, and online applications for various banking services, including QR code services.

The anniversary was also marked by a blood donation program at the central office, where 50 individuals, including employees, customers, and other well-wishers, donated blood.

In recognition of their dedicated and continuous contributions, 27 employees who have served the bank for 10 and 15 years were honored with medals and certificates. Chair Mr. Hari Chandra Khadka and CEO Mr. Kapil Dhakal jointly presented these tokens of appreciation.

In his address, Chairman Mr. Hari Chandra Khadka expressed heartfelt gratitude to the customers, shareholders, regulatory bodies, employees, and all well-wishers for their significant contributions to the bank’s 16-year journey. He called for continued support as the bank moves forward. M

r. Khadka emphasized the bank’s ongoing commitment to social prosperity and employee development, highlighting participation in various domestic and international training programs. He reiterated the bank’s commitment to providing high-quality banking services and introducing superior facilities in the future.

CEO Mr. Kapil Dhakal also addressed the ceremony, expressing appreciation to the founding directors, former chairpersons, employees, shareholders, and customers. He highlighted the bank’s achievements and commitment to institutional social responsibility, pledging to strengthen the bank’s mission and vision further.

Mr. Dhakal also discussed the bank’s initiatives in entrepreneurship development, job creation, skill enhancement, and societal transformation. He emphasized the bank’s efforts to develop an institutional culture that promotes performance, making Jyoti Bikash Bank a "Performer’s Paradise.”

On the occasion of its 16 th anniversary, the bank announced and signed agreements for various prestigious social responsibility programs. Upholding principles of good governance and responsibility towards society, Jyoti Bikash Bank is committed to fostering sustainable change and prosperity, prioritizing the well-being of all citizens.

The bank has allocated 50% more of its net profit to social responsibility initiatives compared to other banks and financial institutions operating in Nepal, demonstrating its dedication to the best interests of the community.

Believing that a healthy workforce is the backbone of nation-building, Jyoti Bikash Bank’s initiatives to prevent premature deaths of newborns have saved the lives of over 900 Nepali infants.
