NDRRMA Unveils Monsoon Preparedness and Response Plan 2081

KATHMANDU: The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has released the “Monsoon Preparedness and Response Action Plan 2081.”
The plan was made public during a press conference today.
According to the plan, the National Emergency Operations Center will maintain a regular command post throughout the monsoon season.
The plan was approved on June 3 by the Executive Committee of the NDRRMA, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane.
The NDRRMA estimates that this year’s monsoon will affect 1.801 million people and 400,000 houses.
Executive Chief Anil Pokharel stated that the authority will utilize weekly, three-day, and one-day weather forecasts to assess risks and implement effective preparedness and response plans.
He emphasized that the NDRRMA will coordinate with various ministries and agencies to carry out the plan.
