Preparation underway to Present Chair Sirohiya, detained by Dhanusha police, in court

KATHMANDU: District Police Office Dhanusha is preparing to produce Kantipur Media Group Chair Kailash Sirohiya in court.

Following his arrest on Tuesday, he was brought to Janakpurdham by road on Wednesday morning, and preparations have been made to present him in court.

According to DSP Ranjan Awa, Police Spokesperson of District Police Office Dhanusha, they are preparing to produce him in District Court Dhanusha today.

On 16 Baisakh, 2081, Indrajit Mahato of Sarlahi filed a complaint against Sirohiya at District Police Office, Dhanusha for misusing citizenship.

Based on the complaint, the district court gave permission to arrest him on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, Sirohiya was arrested by the team of Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office from Kantipur office in Thapathali.

Sirohia has been reported to the police to investigate the offense under the Citizenship Act, 2063, saying that he is using different numbers of citizenships.
