Pickup truck loaded with Rs 1.3 million worth of goods seized by Armed Police

KATHMANDU: A pickup truck was apprehended near the Nepal-India border for attempting to smuggle goods across the border illegally.
The pickup, transporting contraband from a location two miles within Suryodaya Municipality-2, Ilam, was intercepted and confiscated.
The seized items, valued at over 1.3 million, included the vehicle itself along with other goods.
On Monday, the mobile patrol unit from the proposed border security Gulm of the Armed Police Force Nepal intercepted the pickup (State 1-03-001 Ja 0019).
The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled upon encountering the police.
Among the confiscated items were bakkhu cloth, slippery bakkhu, half jackets, jeans, ladies slippers, jackets, trousers, wheat, and corn, totaling 618,300 units.
Additionally, the vehicle was estimated to be worth 700,000, bringing the total value of seized goods to 1,318,300.
