Karki stakes claim for CM in Koshi State

KATHMANDU: CPN (UML) Koshi State Assembly Parliamentary Party leader, Hikmat Bahadur Karki, has staked a claim for the post of the Chief Minister of Koshi State.

Karki submitted the claim before State Chief with signatures of 52 PA members today. Karki shared that the claim was presented for the formation of a new government as per the call in the context to form a government with a claim of the support of majority of SA members for the purpose of formation of Koshi State government in accordance with Article 168 (5) of the Constitution.

Karki was elected SA member from Jhapa-5 (Ka).

Earlier, Koshi State Assembly had directed the government led by incumbent Chief Minister, Kedar Karki, to take vote of confidence, citing it is in monitory.
