Police open fire to disband drug traders in Kohalpur

KATHMANDU: On Thursday morning, police resorted to gunfire in a bid to control drug traders in Kohalpur, Banke.

A team from the Narcotics Control Bureau, dispatched from Kathmandu, fired shots targeting Sushil Pariyar, a 26-year-old residing in Chapalgaudi, Ward No. 12 of Kohalpur Municipality, to bring him under control.

Pariyar was sought for drug trafficking, prompting the police to resort to gunfire when he attempted to flee.

According to reports, gunfire was exchanged during the operation to apprehend Pariyar.

Additionally, 27-year-old Pramod Karki was also arrested from the same location, and 110 grams of brown sugar were seized from their possession.
