KATHMANDU: Global IME Bank Limited (GIBL) has conducted a financial literacy program simultaneously across its 169 branches.

The program aimed to identify various marginalized groups excluded from financial access and organize financial literacy programs accordingly.

The programs held in seven states saw participation from over 20,000 farmers, small and medium-sized entrepreneurs, laborers, potential migrants, students, women, remittance recipients, and local youths.

More than 2,500 target groups participated in the program organized by the bank in Koshi, 2,000 in Madhesh, 5,000 in Bagmati, 4,500 in Gandaki, 3,500 in Lumbini, 500 in Karnali and 2,500 in Sudurpaschim States.

Throughout the current fiscal year 2080/81, GIBL has been actively conducting financial literacy and digital banking enhancement programs across the 77 districts of the country through its 354 branches.

The programs cover a wide range of topics including savings, loans, remittance, digital banking, insurance, investment, additional banking services, financial fraud, and financial discipline.
