Woman dies of lightning strike

KATHMANDU: A woman has died in a lightning strike in West Nawalparasi.

The incident occurred in Taraini, Ward No. 5 of Susta Rural Municipality.

Punam Koiri, 29, was strike by the lightning strike while she was at her garden on Tuesday morning.

According to Inspector Shyam Prakash Yadav of the Area Police Office, Belatari, the lightning strike occurred around 11 a.m. on Tuesday.

Her body was found beneath the mango tree outside her house later that afternoon.

The deceased woman leaves behind two sons and a daughter.

Her husband is currently working abroad in Saudi Arabia.
