KATHMANDU: Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane, embroiled in a rape case allegation, claims he’s been framed.

On Tuesday, he took to Facebook to express his stance, denying any involvement in the incident or knowledge of who might be behind it.

He stated, “I am innocent in this incident, and I am well aware of how this incident was orchestrated. Your participation in this is also evident. There is much more to reveal. Let me reiterate, this incident didn’t happen, it was made to happen.”

Lamichhane also asserted that even if he’s proven guilty, he should be hanged. He further stated, “If I am perceived as guilty, then hang me. Your prejudiced pressure and plan aren’t just mine, but everyone understands.”

The case against him has been brought to the High Court three times consecutively, but he hasn’t been given a chance for a hearing. In the absence of a hearing from the High Court, Sandeep has not had the opportunity to go to the Supreme Court or clear his name.

During this time, the announcement for the Nepali team for the World Cup was made, and Sandeep, now deemed guilty in the rape case, was not included in the team.

With delays in the court proceedings, his dream of playing in the World Cup shattered, prompting him to express anger and anguish through subsequent status updates.
