KATHMANDU: After the split in the Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP), Chairperson Upendra Yadav has called for an emergency parliamentary party meeting.

According to JSP spokesperson Manish Suman, Yadav summoned the meeting from Qatar after learning about Singh not being in Nepal.

Yadav, who had been in the United States to participate in the World Population Conference in New York, returned to Qatar on Sunday.

While abroad, he announced the division of the party under Ashok Rai’s leadership and applied to the Election Commission to register a new party.

Under Rai’s leadership, seven JSP lawmakers went to the Election Commission to file a request for the formation of a new party.
