President Poudel extended best wishes to World Cup team

KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has extended best wishes to the cricket players representing Nepal in the ICC T20 World Cup tournament, scheduled to be held in the UAE and Oman.

The President’s Press Advisor Kiran Pokharel conveyed the best wishes to the members of the squad set to participate in the ICC T20 World Cup cricket tournament, stating the message was for their success.

The Nepali national team is leaving for America on Sunday. The Nepali team is scheduled to go to the T20 World Cup in America and West Indies from June 1 to 29 in two stages on Sunday.

CAN has stated that the Nepali team will depart in two stages on Sunday, at 2:30 AM and noon.

Nepal has selected a 15-member team under the captaincy of Rohit Kumar Poudel to play in the World Cup.

Along with captain Paudel, there are Aasif Sheikh, Anil Shah, Kushal Bhurtel, Kushal Malla, Dipendrasingh Airy, Lalit Rajbanshi, Karan KC, Gulsan Jha, Sompal Kami, Pratish GC, Sandeep Jora, Avinash Bohara, Sagar Dhakal and Kamal Singh Airee.

Nepal is in Group D in T20 World Cup. This group includes South Africa, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the Netherlands along with Nepal.

In the World Cup, Nepal’s schedule includes matches against the Netherlands in Texas on June 4, against Sri Lanka in Florida on June 11, against South Africa in Saint Vincent on June 14, and against Bangladesh in Saint Vincent on June 16.
