Nepal’s fourth consecutive victory in the ACC Premier Cup

KATHMANDU: Nepal secured their fourth consecutive win in the ACC Premier Cup Cricket Tournament by defeating Saudi Arabia by six wickets.

Chasing Saudi Arabia’s target of 74 runs, Nepal reached the total with three balls remaining and four wickets in hand.

Gulshan Kumar Jha was the top scorer for Nepal, remaining unbeaten with 32 runs off 19 balls, including two fours and two sixes.

Meanwhile, Dipendra Singh Airee contributed 17 runs, and captain Rohit Kumar Paudel remained unbeaten with 16 runs.

With this victory, Nepal maintains a 100% win record in Group B, adding eight points to their tally.

Saudi Arabia’s Ishitaq Ahmed took the most wickets for his team, securing two dismissals, while Usman Najib and Wajidul Hassan each claimed one wicket.

In the previous group stage match, Saudi Arabia had set a target of 74 runs for Nepal.

Nepal chased down the target in 20 overs with eight wickets in hand, after Saudi Arabia lost the toss and batted first, scoring 73 runs in 8 overs, losing 7 wickets.

Earlier, Nepal had secured victories against Malaysia, Qatar, and Hong Kong in the tournament.

With their consistent performance, Nepal has already qualified for the semi-finals of the tournament.
