KATHMANDU: The ruling CPN-UML and the Maoist Centre are going to hold a joint election meeting in Ilam-2.

The CPN-UML informed that the event, scheduled to take place in Deumai Municipality on Tuesday afternoon, will witness speeches from prominent leaders, including Chair KP Sharma Oli.

According to UML sources, the election rally, slated for Tuesday in Deumai Municipality’s market area, will feature addresses by Chair Oli, Vice Chair Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal, Secretary Yogesh Bhattarai, Koshi State In-charge Raghubir Mahaseth, and other central and regional committee members.

Suhang Nemwang, who has been nominated by the UML, has garnered support from the CPN (Maoist Centre), Nepal Communist Party, and Nepal Pariwar Dal.

Notably, top leaders, including Chair Oli, have already reached in Ilam to participate in the crucial meeting.

The by-elections in Ilam-2 are scheduled for the April 27, where Suhang Nemwang has been nominated as the candidate representing the UML.
