KATHMANDU: In the ongoing tally of votes for the Ilam-2 by-election, UML candidate Suhang Nemwang continues to hold the lead.

With 35,611 votes counted, Nemwang has garnered 14,613 votes.

His closest rival, Dambar Khadka of Nepali Congress, trails with 9,311 votes, marking a difference of 5,302 votes between them.

Furthermore, independent candidate Dakendra Thegim, occupying the third position, has secured 8,570 votes.

Milan Limbu, representing the Rastriya Swatantra Party and in fourth place, has obtained 2,057 votes.

The Ilam-2 constituency comprised 115,889 eligible voters, out of which 69,287 votes were cast.
