Nepal ‘A’ third consecutive defeat against Ireland

KATHMANDU: In the third and final match of the one-day series against Ireland ‘A’, Nepal has also been defeated in Nepal.

In the match held on Sunday, the home team lost to Ireland Wolves by 69 runs. Along with this, Ireland has swept the series 3-0.

Earlier, Nepal was defeated by 21 runs in the match completed on Wednesday. Similarly, in the second match completed on Friday, Ireland defeated Nepal by 114 runs.

Chasing the target of 285 runs given by Ireland, Nepal managed to score only 215 runs in 39.4 overs.

Nepal’s Arjun Kumal scored the highest 102 runs. He played 118 balls and hit 14 fours. Arjun Saud scored 36, while Naren Bhatt and Rupesh Singh were dismissed for 15 each, while others did not perform well.

Ben White of Ireland took the highest 5 wickets. Gavin Hoey took 4 wickets while Matthew Foster had 1 wicket.

Before that, Ireland won the toss and started batting first at Kirtipur University Cricket Ground.

Ireland’s Stephen Doheny top scored with 107 runs. He played 129 balls and hit 8 fours and 2 sixes.

Peter Moor scored 44, Matthew Humphreys 23, Morgan Topping 21, Fionn Hand 20, Gavin Hoey 14 while Ben White remained unbeaten on 19.

Nepal’s Rajan Dhakal and Ranjit Kumar took 3/3 wickets. Vikash Agri and Shahab Alam took 1/1 wicket each.
