BCCI unveils full schedule for IPL 2024 (with schedule)

KATHMANDU: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed the full schedule of the ongoing TATA Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL) on Monday.

The initial schedule for the first two weeks, comprising 21 matches, was announced by the BCCI on Feb 22, 2024.

The subsequent schedule has been devised, considering the polling dates and venues for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections across India.

In the second phase, Delhi Capitals will play their remaining five home matches at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, after choosing to host their first two home matches in Visakhapatnam.

Punjab Kings, who kicked off their season at the PCA New International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, will wrap up their home fixtures in Dharamsala.

The picturesque stadium, offering stunning views, will witness PBKS in action, hosting two matches on May 5th and 9th against Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore, respectively.

Rajasthan Royals have also opted for a second venue in Guwahati and will play their final two home matches in Assam. They will first face Punjab Kings on May 15th and then clash with Kolkata Knight Riders on May 19th, marking the culmination of the league stage of the 17th season of IPL.

Following a break on May 20th, the spotlight will shift to Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium as the world’s largest cricket stadium hosts an electrifying Qualifier 1 match featuring two top-ranked teams on Tuesday, May 21st, followed by the exciting Eliminator on Wednesday, May 22nd.

Similar to the season opener, Qualifier 2 and the grand final will be held in Chennai, the home ground of reigning champions Chennai Super Kings.

Qualifier 2, contested between the loser of Qualifier 1 and the winner of the Eliminator, is scheduled for Friday, May 24th, followed by the summit clash on Sunday, May 26th.
