Ilam: All-party meeting underway, vote counting to begin shortly

KATHMANDU: Under the Representative Assembly by-elections, an all-party meeting has commenced for the vote-counting process in Ilam-2.

The meeting includes political party candidates, representatives, as well as independent candidates and representatives.

Following delays in transporting the ballot boxes after Saturday’s elections, vote counting is set to begin from this morning.

After the meeting, Chief Election Officer Keshav Prasad Ghimire informed that vote counting will commence.

The counting is underway at the Gautam Buddha Convention Center (City Hall) in Ilam Municipality-2.

Similarly, preparations are also underway to initiate vote counting in Bajhang today.

According to Chief District Officer Bishwamitra Kuinkel, vote counting is pending for three polling stations in Saipal Rural Municipality: Saipal, Eranakuri, and Duli.

These polling stations’ ballot boxes will be airlifted by helicopter, and after their arrival in the morning, an all-party meeting will be held to begin the vote counting process.
