KATHMANDU: Aamar Bahadur Thapa, chair of the Education, Health and Information Technology Committee under the Federal Parliament House of Representatives, has taken the oath of office and confidentiality.

After being elected unopposed as the Chair of the Committee on Wednesday, he took the oath of office and confidentiality.

Speaker Devraj Ghimire administered the oath of office and secrecy to him at Lhotse Hall in the Parliament Building on Wednesday afternoon.

In his address to the media following his swearing-in, he emphasized prioritizing crucial tasks facing the committee.

Highlighting the pivotal role of education in national development, he pledged to enhance the educational sector, ensuring alignment with defined objectives and strategies.

Furthermore, he committed to improving citizens’ well-being by focusing on education and healthcare, vowing to remain dedicated until significant reforms are achieved in both sectors.

Expressing his commitment to equitable treatment, he vowed to provide teachers with service benefits akin to other employees, emphasizing his intent to depoliticize the education sphere.
