KATHMANDU: The Dairy Development Corporation (DDC) has inaugurated a concession sales center within the Singha Durbar complex.

Dr. Baikuntha Aryal, the Chief Secretary, led the inauguration ceremony on Wednesday.

Dr. Rewatiraman Paudel, the Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, highlighted the DDC’s improved profitability over the past six months compared to the previous year.

Secretary Paudel emphasized that the newly established sales center at Singha Durbar would help offset the recent decline in dairy product sales. He urged the DDC to expand its sales centers to densely populated areas as part of an outreach campaign.

With over 2,500 employees at Singha Durbar, Secretary Paudel noted the convenience of having a sales center within the complex. He reiterated that the DDC’s primary goal is to make its products accessible to consumers.

Chief Secretary Dr. Baikuntha Aryal expressed optimism that the presence of DDC’s sales center within Singha Durbar would enhance consumer access to their products. He believed that this initiative would address the issue of declining dairy product sales.

He said that DDC needs to expand its sales across the country rather than opening a sales center within the Singha Durbar in Kathmandu.

He asked them to reach the place where the sales center does not reach as they get lost after going outside the DDC ring road. He said that DDC needs to be able to deliver its products throughout the country.
