KATHMANDU: A heated exchange erupted during a recent parliamentary session as allegations of sidelining opposition members surfaced.

Nepali Congress MP Rajendra K.C. accused the ruling party of deliberately excluding opposition lawmakers when bills related to political parties were set to be tabled on Wednesday’s session.

The opposition MPs raised objections immediately, prompting a retaliatory response from the ruling party members, escalating into a commotion within the assembly hall.

Following the uproar, the Speaker granted time to address the concerns, directing a statement from the Chief Whip of the ruling party, Pradeep Giri.

Giri, in his remarks, countered the allegations by questioning the motives behind the opposition’s claim of obstruction in passing the bills.

The incident underscores the ongoing tensions between the ruling and opposition factions within the parliamentary setting.
