Harka Sampang, Jayaprakash & Jayanarayan did not case vote in Koshi

KATHMANDU: All the voters of the state assembly have voted in Koshi under the national assembly election. There are 93 voters in Koshi State Assembly.

Three voters from the local level did not participate in the voting.

Chairman of Gramthang Rural Municipality of Morang Jayaprakash Gachhadar, Chair of Jhapa Rural Municipality of Jhapa Jayanarayan Shah and Head of Dharan Sub Metropolitan Municipality Hark Sampang did not participate in the voting.

Gachhadar is being treated at Nobel Hospital in Biratnagar after unexpectedly becoming unwell on Friday. Shah gets suspended for his involvement in a corruption investigation. Both are successful lawmakers in Congress.

The alliance’s candidates in Koshi are Congress’ Krishna Sitaula and Maoist Champadevi Karki, while the UML and RPRP have joined hands. UML has nominated Rukmini Koirala, while RPP has nominated Uddhav Poudel.

According to Chief Electoral Officer Gautam, the vote counting will begin at 4 p.m.
