KATHMANDU: Employees have begun a strike calling for the removal of Yuvraj Adhikari, the executive chief of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC).

The employees have denied entry to the executive chief officer saying that the airline is going to sink.

During this time, the corporation’s protesting employees placed a banner at the gate of the office declaring that the executive head who attempted to sink the national flag bearer, the common property of 30 million Nepalis, was barred from entering the corporation.

He is accused of failing to protect the ground handling of the Tribhuvan Airport, which is the main resource of the corporation, not paying attention to the regular maintenance of the corporation’s aircraft on international flights, arbitrarily appointing salaried and contract employees and demoralizing permanent qualified and skilled employees.

Only a few days ago, the Nepal Aviation Authority decided to free up the ground handling rights that the firm had monopolized to open competition.

Along with this, the crew brought attention to the fact that the Twin Otter ship, which had been out of commission for years and could not be handled, as well as five Chinese aircrafts and their spare parts worth crores of rupees, had been abandoned.

The demonstrators declared that they began the demonstration with nine reasons why the executive top officer should be sacked.
