KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has opted to remain neutral in Koshi State.

The official meeting conducted today resolved not to take sides currently as no one requires the party’s backing.

From the ruling alliance in Koshi, Indra Angbo of Maoists and Kedar Karki of Congress with the support of UML have submitted their claims for the Chief Ministership.

Congress MP Kedar Karki has created waves within the Congress after submitting a claim to the Chief Minister with the signatures of a total of 47 MPs including 39 from the CPN-UML and 8 from the Congress.

Along with Congress, Maoists, United Socialists, JSP and others decided to support Maoist Parliamentary Party leader Indra Angbo as Chief Minister. But this decision was rejected by MPs close to Shekhar Koira in Koshi.
