RPP convey a functionary meeting to take a decision of Koshi government

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has summoned a meeting to discuss whether or not to endorse the creation of the Koshi State administration.

President Rajendra Lingden has scheduled a meeting at 8 a.m. on Friday at the party office in Dhumbarahi.

The meeting was called, said to spokesperson Mohan Shrestha, to discuss the Koshi government and make appropriate choices.

The RPP’s final executive committee meeting granted President Lingden the authority to make a decision about the Koshi government after considering suggestions from the leaders.

In Koshi, Chief Minister Hikmat Karki resigned on Ashoj 20 (October 7).

According to sub-section 5 of Article 168 of the Constitution, State Chief Parashuram Khapung has given time till 5 pm on Friday.

The power alliance is trying to form the government with the support of RPP which has 6 MPs. But RPP will decide whether to support the formation of the government or not on Friday morning only.

The government led by CPN-UML Parliamentary Party Leader Hikmat Karki and Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party Leader Uddhav Thapa failed to secure the required majority (support of 47 MPs) in the 93-member Koshi State Assembly.
