KATHMANDU: India has announced the squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup to be held in the West Indies and the United States.

Rohit Sharma was named captain of the 15-member squad by the Indian team on Tuesday.

In the publicized lineup, Hardik Pandya has been assigned the role of vice-captain.

Successful players such as Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Axar Patel have also secured spots in the squad.

Experienced spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who was initially overlooked by the BCCI, has ultimately found a place in the team.

Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson have been selected as wicketkeepers, while KL Rahul has been left out.

However, Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, Avesh Khan, and Khaleel Ahmed have been kept in reserve. Fast bowlers Arshdeep Singh and Mohammed Siraj have also been retained in the squad.
