KATHMANDU: Following several days of heavy rain across the country, including the Kathmandu Valley, the Weather Forecast Division has predicted that the weather will gradually improve beginning today.

The prolonged rainy spell had been attributed to the monsoon’s delayed withdrawal.

A low-pressure area, part of the monsoon system, centered around Jharkhand, India, has had an impact on Nepal.

This system brought heavy rain to several Indian states, including Sikkim.

However, the Division has stated that its impact on Nepal will begin to wane beginning today, resulting in improved weather conditions.

The weather in the Kathmandu Valley has already improved, according to the Division, since last night.

While there is a chance of light rain in the valley this afternoon, it is not expected to be as heavy as the previous days’ rainfall.

Due to the recent heavy rains, the temperature in the Kathmandu Valley had dropped.

The afternoon forecast calls for partial to normal rainfall in the states of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki, with the remaining States receiving only light rain.

Furthermore, light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning is possible in a few places in the States of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki, as well as isolated locations in the other States.

As night falls, the weather in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki States is expected to be mostly clear, with partly cloudy to normal conditions in the rest of the States.

During the night, there is a chance of light rain with thunder and lightning in a few areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki States.
