KATHMANDU: A multi-brand clothing store has come into operation in Baneshwor, Kathmandu with the joint investment of Nepali 5 garment operators.

The owner of the multi-brand apparel store and ready-to-wear business, Rajkumar Karki, stated that the ready-to-wear businesses founded the store in a joint venture with the goal of using indigenous items and contributing in country building. He stated that ready-to-wear businessmen want to expand output and wealth in Nepal.

He stated that the importance of international products has recently surpassed that of Nepali products, and that it is now vital to prioritize Nepali brands above foreign ones.

He stated that the multi-brand store has received almost $2 million in investment. He asserted that the Nepalese products at the store are not inferior to foreign ones. He claims that clothing made in Nepal is 35% less expensive than clothing produced by foreign brands.

Similarly, Pawan Golyan, head of the Confederation of Banks and Financial Institutions, stated that the multi-brand apparel store was established in an effort to supply excellent Nepali brand items at a low price in one star.

He stated that this will boost the country’s economy by exporting and using Nepali brand garments in the future. He stated that before, Nepali-made clothing was sent to the market based on industry orders, but that a drive to deliver them to consumers from their own stores has begun.

He stated that there is a 3 billion annual demand for clothes in Nepal and that he intends to consume Nepali brand clothes in Nepal to replace the country’s imports.

He stated that the garment industry in Nepal should be encouraged because it creates the most jobs and adds the most value to the economy.

He said that the Nepali clothes being exported abroad should be consumed in Nepal and exported abroad only. He said that it is not only that we Nepalis love Nepal, but it is necessary to use Nepali food and Nepali products.

Similarly, Muna Thapa, the manager of a multi-brand clothing store, said that in the multi-brand clothing store, they will get clothes made by researching the structure of Nepalis and designing clothes that suit Nepalis.

She said that when she wears clothes of foreign brands, they match with foreign figures, but Nepali brand clothes are made to suit the Nepali figure.

Similarly, Kishor Nepal, Chair of Nepali Local Readymade Garments Association, said that multi-brand clothing stores have been started with the aim of bringing the clothes produced by the industry directly from the industry to the consumers.

She said that with the aim of bringing Nepali clothes to the consumers by branding them from the industries, multi-brand clothing stores produced in Nepal have been put into operation.

She said that the aim is to gradually bring the multi-brand store to the main cities of Nepal. Similarly, Sumit Pradhan, director of Funkama Garment, said that if five brands are brought together under one roof, the quality clothes of five brands will be brought to the consumers, the cost of the market will be reduced.

She said that now the common consumers also need to give priority to Nepali brands of clothes over foreign ones.
